The Oregon Hazards Lab is looking for a Research Data Scientist to join our team. As a member of the Oregon Hazards Laboratory, you will be a critical part of a research group with a mission to use infrastructure, software, and novel technologies to protect all Oregonians from wildfires, earthquakes, floods, landslides, and other environmental hazards. The Research Data Scientist works closely with the Assistant Director of Systems and with external collaborators to advance the project goals that fall under the respective missions of OHAZ project development needs. Additional responsibilities include assisting with network operations, monitoring, and automation. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Systems. Tasks will include ensuring the continued functionality of platforms, developing and deploying new features, and exploring how to evaluate and integrate novel technologies such as third-party AI detection solutions.
